Learning Objectives:
Identify potential causes of arterial thromboembolism in patients with cancer (including predisposing cancer treatment and specific mechanisms such as non-bacterial thrombotic endocarditis) and conduct the appropriate diagnostic workup.
Select appropriate antithrombotic therapy in cancer patients with ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction, and evaluate the risk-benefit ratio for invasive interventions
Discuss how cancer impacts the risk of bleeding and arterial thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation, and conduct risk stratification of arterial thromboembolism and select appropriate antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation and cancer
