PB1279 - E- Health applications on Hemophilia patients: review and experience in a reference hospital in Spain

Background: The use of electronic resource has been implemented to improve the management in hemophilia patients. Several applications (Apps) are available. It is important to evaluate the items included to use a quality app to improve the follow-up in patients with hemophilia (PwH).

Aims: To review and identify Apps aimed to PwH and to describe the items which these apps must include.

Methods: The search of Apps has been carried out in different portals (App store and Google play). "Haemophilia" or "Congenital coagulopathy" are used like keywords. In adittion, the search has been carried in PubMed, Embase and Scopus. Our experience using apps are also described.

Results: 14 apps for hemophilia patients have been found: (Microhealth Hemofilia; Hemophillia Support, Hemophilia Connect, Haemophilia PAL, HaemActive, Hemocraft, HemMobile, “Mi Hemofilia”, “Hemofilia con inhibidor”, “vivir con hemofilia”, Hemoassist, Florio, WAPPS-Hemo, myPKfit). The resources, based on the evidence described in the literature, which Apps should include:
1-Document bleeding events included date, location, upload photographs, input reason and treatment, pain scales.
2-Input drug: home stock, link to Pharmacy for drug orders, knowledge of factor levels, reports of adverse drug events
3-Secure Links to health Care professionals: access to clinical data by the health professionals, connection to health care profesional.
4-Educational resources
5-Links for social networking and Support: patient associations webs. Chats, links to groups of therapy, psicology support.
6-Self-Monitoring of Health and personal Care: Nutrition, fitness, control of other medications.
7-Artificial Inteligence support: Chat bot and compatibilty with imaging diagnostic systems.

In our centre, 95 severe hemophilia patients use haemoassist, 12 severe hemophilia patients use Florio, 15 patients use MyPKFiT. All of them use these apps to report adherence and bleeding episodes. We use Wapps-Hemo to individualize coagulation factor replacement therapy.

Conclusion(s): In our opinion, it is mandatory that the hemophilia apps include, at least, the ítems described previously.
