Professor Katrien Devreese (MD, PhD) is professor in Hematology/Coagulation at the Ghent University (Belgium) and head of department Diagnostic Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Ghent University. She is head of department of Laboratory Medicine at the Ghent University Hospital.
She is past-chair and currently co-chair of the Lupus Anticoagulant/Antiphospholipid Antibodies subcommittee of the Scientific and Standardization Committee (SSC) of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). She serves as a member of the ISTH Education Training subcommittee. She is executive board member and vice-president of scientific communications of the International Society for Laboratory Hematology. She is board member of the Belgian Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. She is associate editor of the International Journal of Laboratory Hematology.
Prof. Devreese is active in different domains of laboratory haemostasis, Her research interests are focused on studies in the diagnostic field of Antiphospholipid Syndrome, as illustrated in many publications and guidelines.
