Dr. Rushad Patell is a classical hematologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston MA and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Harvard School of Medicine. His academic work is clinical and translational research focused on improving care for patients with thrombotic and bleeding disorders, specifically in high-risk populations such as patients with malignancies and COVID-19. He has published several first authored papers on outcomes-based projects in these populations. He is also leading clinical trials in this space at BIDMC and is the current director of research for benign hematology. In addition, Dr. Patell has a keen interest in medical education, serves as the associate program director for the hematology oncology fellowship program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is passionate about training the next generation of hematologists.
