Dr. Masias is a clinician and clinical investigator at Miami Cancer Institute – Baptist Health South Florida, where she also is an assistant professor of hematology at Florida International University (FIU). She completed her hematology and oncology fellowship at the Ohio State university, where she also completed a master’s in public health with an emphasis in clinical and translational research. Her primary clinical and research interests include diagnosis and treatment of thrombotic microangiopathies, where she has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles. She values the role of a classical hematologist in the hospital, in improving process and developing cost-effective strategies for better patient care. She currently serves in the ASH system-based hematology subcommittee and is a co-chair of the ISTH scientific and standardization committee on predictive and diagnostic variables in thrombotic diseases.
