Sylvia Fong received her PhD from University of California, Berkeley, in Berkeley, CA, USA. She has more than 20 years of translational research experience. Dr. Fong is currently an Executive Director and Head of Hematology Research at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.; as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen’s University. She has been involved in the development of Valoctocogene Roxaparvovec from the preclinical stage and continues to conduct research to understand the mechanisms of action mediating AAV gene therapy variability and durability.
