Dr. Jeremy P. Wood, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Gill Heart and Vascular Institute and the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center of the University of Kentucky (UK). Dr. Wood received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont and postdoctoral training at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin Blood Research Insitute, before joining UK in 2017. His laboratory studies biochemical mechanisms of coagulation, and their dysregulation in bleeding and thrombotic disorders, with particular focuses on anticoagulant proteins (Protein S, Protein C, and Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor) and on the activation of Thrombin by Prothrombinase.
