Dr Joshua H Bourne PhD - Monash Univeristy
Josh is a NHMRC-funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Neuroinflammation group, investigating novel mechanisms and therapeutic targets to alleviate inflammation in the brain after ischaemic stroke. He completed his PhD in 2021 within the Birmingham Platelet Group at the University of Birmingham (UK) in Cardiovascular Science, characterising platelet receptor CLEC-2 in thrombosis and the inflammatory response. Josh has first author publications in haematologica and Frontiers in Immunology, and has raised >$200k through the Heart Foundation's Vanguard grant and CASS Foundation grant toward advancement in stroke therapeutics.
