My name is Erik Vardumyan, I am a medical student in Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi. I was born in 2000, in Yerevan, Armenia. After finishing high school my personal interests led me to medicine. I entered the university in 2018 and now I am in 5’th grade.
As a medical student science is the field of my interest and since 2’nd grade I have been involved in the scientific domain and my first publication as a co-author was published in 2022. In addition to my studies I volunteered in clinics to gain practical experience.
I am particularly passionate about hematology because I personally have congenital hemophilia A and from a very young age I have studied hematological diseases.
In 2023 one of my achievements was passing USMLE Step 1 for which I was required to develop my professional English knowledge. I am planning to continue my career in the US as a resident to specialize in hematology and critical care.
I have some hobbies which are an important part of my life. One of them is biking which I do every Sunday morning besides winter for three months when I prefer to do skiing. Since I am an extreme lover in summer I like paragliding and rope jumping with friends. I am also a standing supporter of a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly in the local gym.
