Advanced Fellow in Hemostasis Thrombosis
Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Los Angeles, California, United States
Sibgha Zaheer, MD MPH is an advanced fellow in hemostasis and thrombosis at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and a clinical instructor with the Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California. She is originally from New York, where she completed her pediatric residency as well as hematology and oncology fellowship both at Northwell Cohen Children's Medical Center. She obtained her MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and her MPH from SUNY Downstate School of Public Health. She has done global health months in Thailand, Kenya, and the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara reservation in North Dakota. Her research interests in residency and fellowship were within sickle cell disease and during fellowship she became interested in the world of hemostasis and thrombosis. She moved to the West Coast to pursue a career in this niche and though she misses the NY bagels, this has been one of the best decisions she has made. Her current research is studying combinations of non-factor agents for hemophilia using thrombin generation.
