Ana Sachetto, biologist, MSc, PhD. I am a post-doc in the hematology field currently working at Mackman Lab - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My previous work focused on studying the mechanisms of complex diseases, such as snake envenomation and bacterial sepsis. The studies were mainly related to blood coagulation, inflammation and redox regulation. I also woked on the development of diagnostic tests and experimental methods, as well as the study of potential therapeutic compounds, such as bioflavonoids. Currently, my researsh interests focus on better understanding the activation of coagulation and induction of tissue factor on different diseases and experimental models, such as cancer, sepsis and endotoxemia.
