I am Professor at KU Leuven in the department of Cardiovascular Sciences and director of the Centre for Molecular and Vascular Biology. I have a background in bioscience engineering and my research is focused on genetic, transcriptomic and biological studies using platelets to unravel new bleeding disorders. I'm involved in the ISTH Subcommittee ‘Genomics in Thrombosis and Haemostasis’ where we aim to develop diverse guidelines for diagnostics of Bleeding and Thrombosis using NGS technologies (ethics, consenting, gene and variant curation rules). I'm the vice chair for the SSCs of the ISTH.
