Durre Shehwar has obtained her Masters (2015) and Mphil (2017) degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. In September, 2017 Shehwar was enrolled in PhD in Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad Pakistan and joined the research group of Dr Muhammad Rizwan Alam to perform her PhD thesis on the contribution of mitochondrial calcium in platelet responses. She has worked as a research associate in the lab of Dr Rizwan from 2018 to 2021. In October, 2021 she was awarded the International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP) fellowship from Higher Education Commision (HEC) Pakistan. On the behalf of IRSIP fellowship Shehwar has joined the group of Prof. Alberio for 9 months to compelet part of her PhD thesis and to improve her experties and enhance her knowledge on platelets studies.
