Kristi Schwietz, PharmD, is the first PGY2 Thrombosis and Hemostasis Management Pharmacy Resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Kristi earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and completed PGY1 training at Aurora Health Care Metro Inc. in Milwaukee, WI.
During her PGY2 training, Kristi has developed hemostatic and antithrombotic management expertise in a variety of clinical areas including stewardship, emergency medicine, cardiology, and critical care. She is involved in several stewardship initiatives including hospital-wide surveillance of blood factor products and restricted antithrombotic agents. Additionally, she has developed institutional guidelines for antithrombotic reversal and management of bleeding in patients with hemophilia and von Willebrand disease. After completion of her training, Kristi will serve as a cardiology critical care pharmacist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
