Mikael Sandell, M.Sc, is currently enrolled as a PhD student in a joint degree programme governed by Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His project is aimed at reducing the invasiveness of endovascular interventional procedures either by attempted miniaturization or through surface modifications, in this case on stents, as will be presented during this conference. Other projects of interest are focused on new devices for biopsies of the heart, endothelial cells and of soft organs in general.
