Dr. Rottenstreich received his B.Sc. and M.D. from Technion, in both cases graduating Summa Cum laude. After a rotating internship at Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem, Israel, he performed a research fellowship in the coagulation unit at Hadassah. He became fascinated with the coagulation complications of pregnancy and thus decided to train in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2019, he was a fellow in the Thrombosis and Thrombophilia Centre in St Thomas’ Hospital in London, studying under Prof. Beverly Hunt. After completing his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he joined a fellowship program at the Clinical Scholars Program in Rockefeller University and Lenox Hill Hospital, where he is continuing his research focusing on platelet involvement in aspirin failure in preeclampsia prevention.
Dr. Rottenstreich has extensive experience in conducting clinical investigation in maternal and fetal medicine, focusing on thrombotic and bleeding disorders during pregnancy. Overall, Dr. Rottenstreich have published 146 original articles, 117 of them as a principal investigator, 12 review articles, 43 letters to the editor and 20 case reports, with 1599 citations.
In the topic of thrombotic and bleeding disorders during pregnancy, Dr. Rottenstreich studied a range of topics, including: 1. Thrombocytopenia and thrombastenia in pregnancy. 2. Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome in pregnancy. 3. Post-cesarean section thromboprophylaxis in obese patients. 4. The use of anticoagulants in pregnancy and the postpartum period. 5. Pregnancy-related venous thrombosis in unusual sites. 5. Acquired von Willebrand disease in pregnant patients in association with essential and secondary thrombocythemia/ thrombocytosis. 6. Inferior vena cava utilization in obstetric patients.
In addition, in direct association with his research interests, Dr. Rottenstreich participated during 2016-2022 in a multidisciplinary clinic in Hadassah which deals with the issues of thrombosis and hemostasis in obstetric patients.
