Craig Kessler is a Professor of Medicine, Oncology, and Pathology, and Director of the Division of Coagulation at the Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC, USA. He also directs the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Comprehensive Treatment Center at Georgetown University.
Prof. Kessler is a leading expert in bleeding disorders, combining patient care and clinical research. In addition to his focus on the management and care of haemophilia patients, Prof. Kessler has expertise in the treatment of haematological malignancies. He has (co-)authored on over 300 articles, including several publications in high-impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. Prof. Kessler received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans and undertook specialty training in haematology and oncology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Prof. Kessler is certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He previously held positions as Editor-in-Chief of Haemophilia and Chair of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Council of the National Hemophilia Foundation. He has been elected to be a Master in the American College of Physicians.
