    Dr. Shin received B,S. at Seoul National University in 1987 and Ph.D. at the Drexel University, USA in 1993. Professor Shin’s research has centered on three topics: 1) rheology of red blood cells; 2) platelets and coagulation and 3) liquid biopsy. Prof. Shin co-founded three startups that successfully commercialized the technologies developed in his lab. Prof. Shin was awarded the Academy Award in Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2015 and received the Presidential Citation from Korean Government in 2016. He is currently the president of Korean Society of Rheology, ex-President of Int. Soc. of Clinical Hemorheology (ISCH). Also, Prof. Shin is currently the director of the Engineering Research Center (ERC) of Biofluid Biopsy, which uses biofluids to perform early cancer diagnosis.
