Madhu Chintala Ph.D., Sr Director Cardiovascular Clinical Research, Janssen R&D. Dr. Chintala received his PhD in cardiovascular Pharmacology from the University of Houston, TX, USA. Over the last 30 years he has been involved in the discovery and development of drugs for the prevention of thrombosis and in the manaement of ischemic complications. He has worked at multiple major pharmaceuticals companies including Schering-Plough, Merck and Janssen. He seminal work includes co-leading the discovery and early clinical development of the PAR-1 platelet antagonist Vorapaxar, characterizing the P2Y12 receptor as the target of the thienopyridine drugs and in establishing a novel and spontaneous animal model of gastroinestinal bleeding.
