Maria Cristin Bravo, PhD is a Faculty Scientist in the Department of Biochemistry at the Robert Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. Dr. Bravo earned her BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and PhD in Cell and Molecular Biosciences from the University of Vermont. Dr. Bravo and colleagues use a complex systems approach to study mechanisms of coagulopathy in genetic disorders, physical trauma, and chronic disease states. Her current collaborations include longitudinal studies of hemostatic balance in pregnancy and burn trauma with a focus on quantifying and functionally characterizing microvesicles in these populations.
