Lorena Buitrago completed her doctorate studies at Temple University, under the supervision of Dr. Satya Kunapuli. She investigated the role of C-Cbl ubiquitin ligase in platelet outside-in signaling. After finishing her Ph.D. she moved to NYC to join the laboratory of Blood and Vascular Biology at The Rockefeller University, as a post-doctoral fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Barry Coller. At Rockefeller, she has continued her studies on platelet function, integrin αIIbβ3 receptor structure-function relationship, ligand binding, and outside-in signaling.
