Since 2017, I have been doing research within the field of immunology focusing on the complement system and the contact activation system (CAS). During my master’s research project, I studied the CAS in relation to the disease abdominal aortic aneurysm where I have set up an immunological assay for measurement of the CAS protein “cleaved high-molecular-weight-kininogen” (cHK). The development of this immunological cHK assay has resulted in a first authorship on a finished and published paper (Pham et al. 2022). Furthermore, I have spent half a year in Melbourne, Australia, as a part of my MSc in Biomedicine, where I studied with “natural killer” cells in relations to the cancer disease glioblastoma. I have recently been working as a research assistant at Institute of Molecular Medicine, Department of Cancer- and Inflammation Research, University of Southern Denmark, where I have been involved in several projects studying COVID-19. Additionally, I have been teaching bachelor students in immunological techniques and co-supervised bachelor students, master students, and laboratory technicians.
