Dr Carolina specialized in Hematology-Hemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation (2010-2013), both from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2014 she joined the Hemophilia Academy. Through the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UNICAMP, she completed her Master's Degree in Internal Medicine in 2015 and is currently working on her PHD thesis under the supervision of Dr. Margareth Ozelo focusing on Hemophilia and inhibitor. Dr. Carolina's areas of interest are therapeutic and transfusional management of hereditary and acquired bleeding disorders, laboratory in hemostasis and PBM (Patient Blood Management). Dr Carolina wrote a book chapter with the theme “Physiology in Blood Coagulation”. In addition to being the director of Blood Donor Collection and medical responsible for the Transfusional and Therapeutic Apheresis Sector at the Blood Center-UNICAMP; at this same institution, in the Hemorrhagic Disorders Treatment Unit, she assists more than 400 patients with Hemophilia, 360 with Von Willebrand Disease and approximately 200 patients with other bleeding disorders.
