Dr. Manuel Salzmann is a PostDoc at the Medical University of Vienna and is investigating host-pathogen interactions using mouse models. After his study of molecular biology he continued with a PhD in vascular biology and haemostasis, where he investigated models of platelet depletion and the crosstalk of inflammation and platelet reactivity. In the current COVID-19 pandemic his research focused on virus infections and host response on a molecular and cellular level.
