Postdoctoral researcher
University College Dublin
Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Dr. Martin Kenny is a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in biomedical science and
artificial intelligence (AI). He obtained his PhD from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
in 2022, where he focussed on platelet biomechanical functions in haemostasis and wound
healing, specifically examining the contribution of platelet contractility. During his PhD, he
developed skills in applying AI and machine learning techniques to imaging data.
Dr. Kenny holds an MSc in Translational Oncology from Trinity College Dublin and a BSc in
Genetics and Cell Biology from Dublin City University. He is currently using AI and machine
learning to find markers of pre-eclampsia in the NTA profiles of pregnant women and is
working towards his goal of leveraging AI to harness untapped potential in complex
biomedical data. With his combined knowledge and skills in biomedical science and AI, he
hopes to contribute to the ongoing efforts in advancing healthcare through innovative
research.
