Abbey is a clinical haematologist and Alfred and Austin Hospital, Melbourne. She is the clinical lead in haemostasis and thrombosis at Austin Health. She has an interest in non-malignant haematology including acquired and inherited bleeding disorders and thrombosis. Abbey is also completing a PhD in vascular biology at Monash University investigating the role of the endothelium in inflammation and thrombosis. She was awarded the Wheaton Family PhD scholarship for Blood Diseases in 2017, the RACP Foundation Kanematsu Aware in 2018 and the THANZ Science and Education Trust Research Grant in 2019.
