Miss Megan Allen (MRes), School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience, University of Bristol, UK.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Pharmacology & Physiology at the University of Manchester in 2018. I then completed my Master of Research degree at the University of Sheffield in 2019 where I studied vasoreactivity in genetically modified mice using wire myography in relation to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Following this, I started my PhD as part of the British Heart Foundation 4-year programme in 2020 where I undertook rotation projects related to vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and signalling. I began my PhD project within the Bristol Platelet Group at the University of Bristol in 2021. I am currently studying novel prostanoid analogues with enhanced stability and how these impact platelet function and signalling alongside the impact on vasoreactivity in regards to PAH. My background includes general platelet function and signalling assays and pulmonary vasoreactivity using wire myography.
