Dr. Ruchika Sharma is an Associate professor of Pediatrics at UTSouthwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA. Dr. Sharma is a pediatric hematologist who went to Medical School in Maulana Azad Medical College/University of Delhi, India. She went to University of Toledo for her internship and pediatric residency and completed fellowships in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology/ Bone Marrow transplantation and Hemostasis-Thrombosis at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/ The Ohio State University. After completing her training, Dr. Sharma served as the associate medical director of the Platelet immunology laboratory and hemostasis laboratories at Versiti BloodCenter of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, United States for 6 years. Her research interests are in clinical/ translational research in Pediatric Hemostastic disorders and platelet disorders. As the medical director of the Platelet Immunology laboratory at Versiti she has been significantly involved in diagnostic advances in immune platelet disorders such as Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT) and ITP. As the co-chair of the Platelet Immunology scientific subcommittee at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), Dr. Sharma is involved with developing of management guidelines for patients with rare platelet disorders as well as collaborative research projects.
