Sevgi Can Cengiz is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Institute of Experimental Vascular Medicine in University Hospital Düsseldorf, Germany. She came to Germany in 2014, after completing her bachelor study to pursue her academic career in the field of inflammation. During her PhD, she was awarded a scholarship from Jürgen Manchot Foundation and later DAAD for studying functions of environmental sensors in response to inflammation. In 2022, she joined the group of Prof. Dr. Margitta Elvers and is currently investigating the mechanisms of thrombo-inflammation. She is a proud extrovert, an amateur squash player, an enthusiast for adventure and generally curious about life . She is convinced that a big smile is a mirror to a good heart.
