My name is Alessandro Pinheiro. I am a post-doctoral fellow from Case Western Reserve University. Undergraduate in Biological Sciences at State University of Rio de Janeiro (1998) and Ph.D. in Science (Nuclear Technology) at University of São Paulo (2011). From 2012 to 2019, I have a position as Assistant Professor at Estacio University, in the courses of Pharmacy and Nursing. Post-doctoral fellow, 2017-2019, at the Laboratory of Immunology and Biochemistry of Parasitic Disease of the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), where I studied different aspects of malaria parasite/host cell interaction. In 2019, I joined Dr. Alvin Schmaier’s laboratory at Case Western Reserve University as a post-doctoral fellow to study coagulation pathways activation in malaria disease.
