Melissa V. Chan, PhD is a Research Fellow in the lab of Dr Andrew Johnson at The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Framingham Heart Study in Massachusetts, USA. She received her PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from Queen Mary, University of London, UK and conducted postdoctoral training at Imperial College, London and at McMaster University in Canada before returning to London to specialize in the role of anti-platelet therapies and cardiovascular diseases on platelet reactivity. Her current research focuses on platelet reactivity testing and genetic heritability of these traits in large populations. She is passionate about STEM outreach and equity, diversity and inclusion in science.
