Samira Ali is a biomedical scientist in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Hematology at Landspitali University Hospital of Iceland. Originally from the United Kingdom, Samira completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science at Roehampton University. After completing her studies, Samira worked for the National Health Service (NHS) and Public Health England as an associate practitioner.
In 2020, Samira embarked on an exciting new chapter by relocating to Iceland where she
started working at Landspitali Univeristy Hospital. Samira completed a postgraduate diploma in biomedical science at University of Iceland to obtain her license as a qualified biomedical scientist. Her postgraduate diploma thesis focused on the comparison of three warfarin monitoring tests (PT, P&P, and Fiix test) in anticoagulated and non-anticoagulated lupus anticoagulant positive plasma samples. Through her meticulous study, Samira aimed to contribute towards a greater understanding on the influence of lupus anticoagulant on warfarin monitoring assays.
