Catriona O’Leary (RANP, RNP, MSC, BSc) is a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Ranp) Acute Medicine and is currently working in the Anticoagulant Services at Cork University Hospital Ireland. A graduate of University College Cork in 2000, she has over 15 years’ experience in anticoagulation including the establishment of a nurse led anticoagulant service as well as a background in Acute Medicine. She is an active member of the VTE Nurses Faculty Ireland and is also a nurse representative on the Irish National VTE Programme (NVTEP) clinical advisory group. She is an adjunct clinical lecturer for the school of Nursing and Midwifery college of Medicine and Health, University College Cork. She has a special interest in VTE management and prevention. Provision of a timely safe and quality service to patients is one of her top priorities.
