Dr Jerry Teitel is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, ON, Canada. He is Medical Director of the Hemophilia Treatment Program at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, the largest such programme in Canada. He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto and pursued a Research Fellowship at Harvard University, MA, USA.
Dr Teitel’s research interests are in clotting factor inhibitors, new therapies for haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and haemophilic arthropathy. He has authored over 100 journal articles, book chapters and editorials. The St. Michael's Hospital Hemophilia Treatment Centre has been involved with outreach, global alliance for progress and formal twinning projects with Jordan, Jamaica and Barbados. Dr Teitel has also presented at many international congresses, including those of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, the American Society of Hematology and the World Federation of Hemophilia.
