Dr. Julia Kral-Pointner is PostDoc at the Medical University of Vienna and works on macrophages and platelets in thrombosis and atherosclerosis. After her studies of molecular biology at the University of Vienna, she did her PhD studies focusing on platelets and innate immune cells in pulmonary diseases. Subsequently, she completed a Postdoc at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, where she investigated endothelial cells in thrombosis. Back in Austria, she combined the expertise acquired in the two labs and works on her own Austrian Science Fond-funded project.
