Dr. Laurent Mosnier is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. He received his doctoral degree in thrombosis and hemostasis from Utrecht University in the Netherlands under the guidance of Prof. Bonno Bouma and performed his postdoctoral studies mentored by Prof. John Griffin at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. He joined the faculty at Scripps in 2007.
Dr. Mosnier’s current NIH funded studies focus on the interactions of coagulation factors and the vasculature. The goal of his research is to identify novel molecular mechanisms to help understand how to engineer molecular variants of coagulation proteins for translational research and the development of potentially safer and more effective therapeutic applications for infection, stroke, and excessive bleeding.
