Nanda Uitslager
Nurse practitioner, Van Creveldkliniek Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre, Utrecht, the Netherlands
After graduating as a nurse in 1987, Nanda Uitslager worked in the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam for three years. In 1990 she switched to the Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation Ward of the University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMCU). During the 15 years she worked in that ward, she completed the necessary studies to become an Oncology Nurse (1993) and a Haematology Nurse (1996).
In 2004, she started working at the Van Creveldkliniek (VCK) Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre as a haemophilia nurse treating both children and adults. Since September 2012, after completing her Master’s in Advanced Nursing Practice, she has worked as a nurse practitioner at the VCK. She plays an active role in the complete care of patients with clotting disorders and is responsible for managing surgery in her patients – from the treatment plan to care after discharge. Special interest in intimacy and sexual health.
She is a member of the Dutch Haemophilia Nurses Association (NVHV) and is the current Chair of the EAHAD nurse’s committee.
