Dr. Erin Ziegler (she/her) PhD, NP-PHC, is an Assistant Professor in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Toronto Metropolitan University and a primary health care nurse practitioner. She is the clinical lead of a gender-affriming primary care program with Queen Square Family Health Team. Dr Ziegler's research focuses on exploring barriers and facilitators to healthcare within the LGBTQ2S population; nursing education; and advanced practice nursing. She is a faculty member with the Canadian Centre for Advanced Practice Nursing Research and the provincial course professor for the Advanced Health Assessment and Diagnosis course with the Ontario Primary Healthcare Nurse Practitioner program. Dr. Ziegler co-developed the online eLearning toolkit Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Nursing (www.soginursing.ca) which aims to improve nurses and healthcare providers' understanding of cultural humility when caring for LGBTQ2S individuals. She is the chair of the NPAO Rainbow Community of Practice and an editorial board member for the Nurse Practitioner Open Journal and the journal Primary Health Care Research and Development.
