    Verena Schroeder, PhD

    Prof. Verena Schroeder works at the Department for BioMedical Research at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She is a pharmacist by training and received her PhD on studies on coagulation factor XIII in vascular diseases. During her time as a postdoctoral fellow at the University in Leeds, UK, she started her research on interactions between coagulation and the complement system. Verena is now the study director for the Master's programme in Pharmacy at the University of Bern. Her research continues to be focused on factor XIII (biochemical aspects, structure and function, factor XIII deficiency) and on interactions between coagulation and the complement system. For many years Verena has been a co-chair on the Factor XIII and Fibrinogen SSC Subcommittee which she served as chair in 2016-2020.
