Sophie Susen, MD, PhD, is a professor of haematology and director of the Department of Haemostasis and Transfusion at Lille University Hospital in Lille, France.
Prof Susen completed medical school at René Descartes University Faculty of Medicine in Paris, France, and and received her medical degree at the University of Lille Medical School . Her PhD was performed in medical sciences at the University of Lille and she did postdoctoral work at René Descartes University in Paris.
She has a special interest in von Willebrand disease and is the national coordinator for the French Reference Network for von Willebrand Disease. She is the team leader of the research group “heart disease blood flow and hemostasis” at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm).
