Dr Ernest Turro is an Associate Professor in the Departhment of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His research focuses on the development and application of statistical methods for interpreting genomic and clinical data. He has made numerous contributions towards understanding the genetic causes of rare diseases across a broad spectrum of pathology, with a special emphasis on bleeding and platelet disorders. He has also developed high-throughput approaches for understanding the genetic basis of variation in platelet reactivity. He has published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature, including articles as senior author in Science, Nature, Nature Medicine, Blood and the American Journal of Human Genetics.
