Cathedratic-Professor Lizbeth Salazar-Sanchez, MD, is currently a member of the Directory Board of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, and an ex-director of the Medicine School of the University of Costa Rica. She has a degree in medicine and surgery and a degree in clinical microbiology; an MSc in Microbiology and Clinical Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Medical Expertise and Bodily Injury Assessment from UNED, Madrid, Spain. Ph.D. in Science Physicians from the University of Greifswald, in Germany, from which she graduated with the honorific mention. Dr. Salazar-Sanchez research has been focused on hemostasis and thrombosis and medical education. She is the author of around 100 publications in these fields and she has received national and regional scientific awards. She is a reviewer in medical journals in their field and is a member of various medical associations.
