Rolf Urbanus is an associate professor of thrombosis and hemostasis at the Van Creveldkliniek of the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands. He graduated with a PhD in medicine at Utrecht University in 2008. Dr. Urbanus has authored or coauthored more than 100 scientific publications on thrombosis and inherited bleeding disorders in peer-reviewed journals and is best known for his work on the auto-immune thrombotic disorder antiphospholipid syndrome. Dr. Urbanus is part of the steering committee of the Thrombocytopathy in the Netherlands (TiN) study, a cross-national study on inherited platelet disorders. He is currently a member of the editorial board of Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, a reviewer for numerous journals and serves in the scientific advisory board of the Netherlands Thrombosis Foundation.
