An Early Career Scientist affiliated with Freiburg University Clinic, Freiburg, Germany. His research focuses on investigating the role of reticulated platelets in myocardial scarring following ischemia-reperfusion injury with a focus on heterocellular interactions. Muataz has a medical degree from P. Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy and an ERASMUS+ M.Sc. degree "Infectious Diseases and One Health" awarded by the three founding partner universities: Université de Tours, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and the University of Edinburgh. He has several honors and awards, including a full ERASMUS+ scholarship for his M.Sc. degree and a full bursary to the European Respiratory Society training course on acute respiratory pandemics. Muataz is also an author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals and possesses several skills, including but not limited to, extensive experience with animal experiments, proficient in flow cytometry techniques and data analysis.
