Doctoral Candidate
Immunology Graduate Program, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
I, Rachel Cantrell, am currently working towards completing my PhD in Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center. Through my doctorate work I have gained a plethora of insights into how the adaptive immune system interacts with other biological systems, particularly the coagulation cascade. While leading my own projects I have developed a clear understanding of in vivo and in vitro techniques to assess how CD8+ T cells fight viral infections and cancer. Following my doctoral degree, I am excited to continue learning how I can make a positive impact in my community by utilizing my scientific, analytical, and technical skills. My personal passion is to educate the general population about science and medicine by translating complex topics and clearly presenting ideas in an engaging manner. My long term goal is to grow my skill set, to continue honoring my love of learning, and to be a next-generation leader.
