Philipp Burkard (MSc): I am currently working as PhD student in the group of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nieswandt at the Institute of Experimental Biomedicine, University Hospital Würzburg and Rudolf Virchow Center for Integrative and Translational Bioimaging, University of Würzburg, Germany.
After completion of my BSc degree in Bioanalysis at the University of Applied Sciences in Coburg, Germany, in 2015, I wanted to focus my studies more on translational and disease related research. Thus, I moved to Marburg to study Biomedical Science at the Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany, where I received my MSc degree in 2017.
In my PhD project I am investigating the role of platelets in the thrombo-inflammatory setting of Acute Lung Injury (ALI)/Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).
