Hello, my name is Tessa Noordermeer (MSc) and I am working as a PhD Candidate at the Center for Benign Hematology, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Van Creveldkliniek in the University Medical Center Utrecht in the Netherlands. My research is focussed on how antiphospholipid antibodies cause thrombosis within the antiphospholipid syndrome on one side, and how these antibodies cause lupus anticoagulant, e.g. prolonged clotting times, on the other side. Besides these fundamental aspects, I am also looking into the more clinical aspects of the disease by looking into the interference of lupus anticoagulant in point-of-care test INR monitoring.
