I am Sean Carlin, a second-year master’s student from the Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis Research Institute (TaARI) of McMaster University. My current research focuses on the effects of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemia on the host response to polymicrobial sepsis. We hope to extend this project to investigate the impact and mechanism of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) during sepsis, aiming to improve care for diabetic and sepsis patients.
