Rachel Gehlen MSc, works as a PhD-student at Synapse Research Institute at the Department of Functional Coagulation (Maastricht, The Netherlands). In 2020 she obtained her Research Master degree in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University. As of 2020, she is enrolled in a PhD program at the Synapse Research Institute, studying the antiphopholipid syndrome. In her current work, she attempts to unravel the mechanism by which anti-prothrombin antibodies may induce lupus anticoagulant activity and thrombosis.
