Dr. Marisol Betensky is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH), and member of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Program at JHACH where she provides care for patients with complex bleeding and thrombotic disorders. Dr. Betensky’s research focus is on the investigation of prognostic factors and the development of prognostic models of pediatric VTE outcomes, with an emphasis on the key adverse outcomes of recurrent VTE and the post-thrombotic syndrome. Dr. Betensky has previously served as site principal investigator or co-investigator for multiple clinical trials in pediatric VTE including the Kids-DOTT Trial. She is currently a junior member of the ISTH Pediatric SSC Working Groups on Post-thrombotic Sequelae and Antithrombotic Trials, and recently led an ISTH Pediatric SSC Task Force on Asymptomatic VTE. She is a prior participant of the ASH Clinical Training Research Institute and a recipient of an HTRS Mentored Research Award.
